
Stanton Friedman Short Bio
Stanton Friedman was the original UFO Researcher of the modern age. He recently passed away in May 2019 after attending a conference where he spoke about the UFO phenomenon.
Educational & Professional Background
- Earned BSc. and MSc. degrees in Physics from the University of Chicago in 1955 and 1956
- Worked for 14 years in nuclear physics at companies like GE, GM, Westinghouse, and McDonnell Douglas
- Involved in advanced projects like nuclear aircraft and compact nuclear power plants, many of which were eventually canceled.
UFO Interests & Contributions
- Got into UFOs in 1958 and started lecturing on the topic in 1967
- Spoken at over 600 colleges and 100 professional groups globally
- Published more than 90 papers on UFOs and appeared in numerous media outlets including Larry King and documentaries
- Known as the original civilian investigator of the Roswell Incident
- Authored several books, including “TOP SECRET/MAJIC” about the Majestic 12 group and “Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience”
Awards & Recognition
- Lifetime UFO Achievement Award in 2002 from UFO Magazine UK
- The city of Fredericton declared August 27, 2007, as Stanton Friedman Day

- Provided written testimony to Congress and appeared twice at the UN
